There are normal announcements and there are D23 announcements. If you're a Disney fan, then you'll probably know D23 is like opening presents on Christmas morning. And this year's D23 was wow. Even though we got many sequels though but most of them are worth it. Disney brought Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Disney Animation and Disney+ together and showed fans what is coming next. There were new movies, returning characters, surprise announcements, new casts, trailers, first looks and, of course, one of the biggest announcements of all, Frozen 3 is finally becoming real.

Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff are coming back. And this time, the story is moving into a very different part of their lives. Anna and Kristoff are getting married. That's right. The little girl who ran through the snow looking for her sister in the first movie is now preparing for her wedding. That alone makes me feel old. The first Frozen came out in 2013. That's more than a decade ago. A whole generation of children has grown up with Elsa and Anna. Now Disney is showing us what happens next. Disney also teased a mysterious new female villain, although her identity hasn't been fully revealed yet. And then there is Olaf. Our favorite talking snowman appears to be getting a romantic storyline of his own. Apparently, Olaf is falling in love. Frozen 3 is scheduled for cinemas on November 24, 2027, and Disney has already confirmed that Frozen 4 is also being developed.

Marvel is also included here. One of the biggest moments of D23 was the reveal of the new X-Men cast. And honestly, this is huge. Marvel officially introduced a new group of actors who will be bringing some of the most famous mutants back into the spotlight. Sadie Sink is Jean Grey, Kit Connor is Cyclops, Christopher Abbott is Professor X, Inde Navarrette is Rogue, Maya Boyd is Storm, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, and Adam Driver is playing Mister Sinister. That's a pretty serious cast. Then Marvel showed more of Avengers: Doomsday. And this is where things became absolutely ridiculous in a good way. Robert Downey Jr. is returning to Marvel. But he isn't returning as Iron Man, he's playing Doctor Doom. The new footage shows him facing some incredibly powerful heroes, including Thor. There is even a moment where Doom stops Thor's Stormbreaker. Just think about that for a second. Thor swings one of the most powerful weapons in the Marvel universe and Doom basically says: "No."

D23 showed off more from Ahsoka Season 2, which is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in January 2027. The new season looks darker, and Grand Admiral Thrawn remains one of the biggest threats. Then there is Star Wars: Starfighter. Ryan Gosling appeared at D23 to introduce the new movie. The film is scheduled for May 28, 2027, and also stars Matt Smith, Aaron Pierre and Mia Goth. What I find interesting about Starfighter is that it gives Star Wars another opportunity to tell a story outside the usual Skywalker family storyline.

Pixar also had plenty to show too. Incredibles 3 is coming in summer 2028. And I think this is one of those announcements that makes people immediately go: "Wait... we're actually getting this?" The Parr family is coming back, but this time the children are becoming even more important. Then there is Coco 2 and it appears Miguel is now a teenager, and the story is returning to the Land of the Dead. But there is a problem. Ernesto de la Cruz is back and apparently, he wants revenge. Now that's an interesting setup.

Disney also confirmed Zootopia 3 is in development. There are also projects such as Lilo & Stitch 2, the live-action Tangled, the animated movie Hexed, Gatto, Princess Diaries, kingdom Hearts, Ghost Market, bluey, The Simpsons and Clay. D23 2026 was packed, there was almost too much to take in but that's also what made it exciting. For younger fans, there are new adventures waiting, for older fans, there are characters coming back from their childhood and for Disney itself, this is a giant test. Can the company keep all these franchises exciting without overusing them? That's the question. Personally, I'm excited. Frozen 3 has my attention, the new X-Men cast has my attention, and mostly Avengers: Doomsday definitely has my attention. But how are we supposed to wait till 2027/208 for these projects to be released? The excitement is really killing me.
